Well, after a long spell of me not doing much at all, it is time to launch an update and something new. After much messing around and a number of suggestions I have finally updated the mosviewonly mambot to include the following features; - Integration with the excellent MAL component from Mambobrothers. This gives you quite a few more groups to play with, which are dynamically integrated with the mambot to allow you to define any group within the {viewonly=...} tag.
- A new parameter option in the backend, which allows you to define an exception message. The exception message will only appear if the user viewing the text is not a member of the groups defined within the {viewonly=...} tag.
Special thanks go to Ashley Jade Hamilton (aka Jade) who provided idea's and a fair amount of code for the exception message code.
parameters moshidefrom I have also created the evil twin brother of mosviewonly, called moshidefrom. This mambot does exactly the opposite of mosviewonly, when you enclose a piece of text between the tags ; It will hide that text from the group identified. The format is exactly the same as mosviewonly, so you can define as many groups as you want, seperated by commas. Moshidefrom is also integrated with the MAL component. With both these mambots, if you don't have MAL installed it will ignore this and keep on working. Moshidefrom does not include the exception text parameter, as I viewed this as an unnecessary addition - please tell me if you think I am wrong.
