About
Oh arse! I hate the “About” section, it always feels like I should bend over double and attempt some kind of self-fellating act when filling this section in. However the Internet Gods have decried that all sites should have one and who am I to argue?
Me
My name is Andy Stewart and I live in the fair shire of Northampton in the UK. I am somewhat over the age of 40, physically, but mentally hover somewhere between 13 and 18 - dependant on my mood at any particular time. Oh, and most importantly, I am a Geek! I think it’s fair to make that point very clear from the outset.
I love technology, I am a non-abashed Gadget Freak. I have worked, at various times, as an;
- IT Manager
- Opensource developer (I was one of the merry band of men/women that founded Joomla)
- Enterprise Systems Designer
- Chief Technology Officer
This site
This site is essentially just a dumping ground for all the really interesting and useful stuff that I have found. It is primarily focused around open source technologies, but not exclusively so, as this is my main passion.
I will also try and review gadgets, books and other such stuff that I find have either helped me in my day-to-day life or I have foolishly spent money on and give you fair warning of. It only seems polite as you’ve given me some of your time to be here :)
Mostly, but again not exclusively, this site will looking at;
- Linux (mostly of the Fedora and Ubuntu flavours)
- Web Technologies and Software (such as Joomla, WordPress, etc)
- Social Networking
- Android
- Gadgets of many many fine flavours and varieties :)
There may be other things that creep in, as this site will be somewhat organic as it develops, but hopefully that’ll keep it interesting as well as informative.
Enjoy!
